Exhibit V... Believe is an innovative, experiential multi-media art installation, confronting one of the most damaging questions survivors of sexual assault are asked: “What were you wearing?” That question shifts blame, distorts truth, and reduces a life-altering trauma to a garment.
This exhibit rejects that narrative by creating a poignant display of garments, art and information that accurately educates the community. Believing survivors is the first step to offenders being held accountable, reporting to increase, and hope and healing to take place.
Exhibit V... Believe is a compilation of art installation segments, all designed to create a sensory experience that sharpens awareness of sexual assault and the realities faced by victims. The purpose is to help people recognize vulnerability when they encounter a survivor in need and know how to respond by directing them to Julie Valentine Center (JVC), a nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming survivors’ lives from trauma toward healing, stability, and the ability to re-engage with life with restored agency and safety.

Premier Arts Collective (PAC) is an experiential nonprofit organization that uses the arts as a vehicle of healing and hope.
For over 25 years, the organization has been committed to enriching communities and transforming lives. Premier Arts Collective is innovative in its approach to serving people who are enduring difficult circumstances or suffering from trauma and abuse. When people experience trauma in their lives, the process of healing and recovery can be complicated. Often, the pain from the memories and scars is too difficult to be spoken or even written. Self-expression through the arts and music helps to heal wounds and pave paths for recovery. Premier Arts Collective provides therapeutic art and music programs to aid in the healing and empowerment of those we serve on a global scale.
Julie Valentine Center
Julie Valentine Center's mission is to provide hope and healing to those who have been impacted by child abuse or sexual assault.
Julie Valentine Center is a child abuse and sexual assault recovery center providing free confidential services in Greenville, South Carolina. Services are provided for children and families through the Center’s nationally accredited Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC). As South Carolina’s first Rape Crisis Center, established in 1974, Julie Valentine Center is recognized as a leader in the field. In 2016, the Center made history by hiring the first Rape Crisis / CAC Chaplain and creating a nationally recognized model for spiritual care services for survivors and their families. Julie Valentine Center was instrumental in the passage of the first rape kit legislation in South Carolina in 2020, establishing the state’s rape kit tracking system.
Julie Valentine Center has been working to stop child abuse and sexual assault before it happens, reduce trauma, and re-establish safety for survivors and their families for 50 years.
